When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Gets Going
The meaning of this phrase for me is " when all of what you are experiencing is getting tougher, only a equally tough person can overcome it". I relate this to every year I overcome here in Science High School. Every year, I face tough challenges just to pass or not to be kicked out. I though that I never became tough to overcome these challenges. But that is what I though, I didn't notice that I am becoming tough during those times. During those times, I am controlling my self to be serious in my studies in order to pass. Following this phrase will help a lot. Not only me but many more. This phrase applies to many of the students in Science High School. The only thing that stands between is the will of the student to be tough or not.

Math Festival
Yeah, another event, waiting to occur until it comes. I was forced to join the math trail since Ave was moved to join the Math Jingle. The day starts with the program. Every student went to the gym and they presented first the King and Queen for the foundation day. Then it was followed by a break the Math trail starts. We got a bit of a problem at station 2 but we did not recover anymore. We became the last placer in the contest but it was okay. Then when I returned back after having lunch the Ginoo at Ginang Sipnayan starts. We supported our classmates enthusiastically. While I was waiting for the awarding, I went to the Math Lab with Migs and when I went out, the awarding is done. I hurriedly went to the room to congratulate my friend because I knew he won. And also her partner who is the 1st runner up. What a day.

Field trip 2011 :)))
The most anticipated day in my 3rd year life. So, my friend in Bacoor slept in our house because the meeting time is 5:30 am. I woke up 3:30 am to prepare all my thing that I will bring and take a shower afterwards. We took our breakfast then went directly to school. We waited a couple of minutes before we board the bus. At the bus, we met a guy named Kuya Jimmy. At first I thought it was genie until he corrected. We started the trip with a prayer from our classmate and some tips and bus rules from kuya Jimmy. As the bus traveled, kuya Jimmy informs us about the places we stumbled on and also gave questions about our subjects.
After an hour or more during the trip, we entered Manila. We went directly to Pasay where our first destination is. The Nido Science Discovery center is our first destination, and it is inside the Mall of Asia. We lined up inside until our bus is called and we entered. Inside, our first station is about the earth and its problems. Suddenly, the girl who is assigned in that section let us go inside the replica of earth and played Jump Baby Bear. After that, we went to the fake reef to feel like a fish and let us talk with Mr. T, the talking fish. then we are directed to go to the Earthquake Experience where we stood a moving platform like experiencing earthquake while we are discussed about earthquakes. Then we went to the technological section where we saw robots and played (I think it is an Xbox 360) and iPad. After that, we went to the computers and motion sensors part of the exhibit then to the flight simulators and automobiles, grossology and shadow wall. then that was the end of the first venue. We waited for the bus outside MOA and boarded. We ate inside the bus but others ate in the mall. Then we went away to go to the next venue.
The second destination is The myth of The Human Body where dead people were plastinated and displayed for a better understanding within our body. We first watched a short film regarding how hard to bear a child and all the hardships of a mother. Then we went to the exhibit where my friend cannot take the things that he sees. So we left him inside the other building. We saw bodies, mostly Chinese, who donated their body and showed us the parts of a human and other tips for men and women about health and the body parts. Then we finished the exhibit and met our friend waiting. then we got ready for the next venue.
The next venue is Kulturang Pinoy where two of my friend were called to dance in front. The guy who is a member of the staff there keeps on shouting REMINGTON! and we all went crazy because of that, including the awesome beats and music from the ensemble. Then we went to the room with blue wall, where one of my friend who is a girl was called and was asked to wear a costume and danced. The last part was when we watched a short clip about old people must be taken care off and not to be scolded. Then we went to our final venue.
The final venue is MOA again since the Rizal Lights and Sounds was under maintenance. When we arrived at MOA, all of us were like dogs that were broken loose. We went directly to Timezone and played for and hour before meeting with the other girls. Me and Ave went like loco in the department store, circling and circling around then one of the sellers called us like they were joking us. So we just ran down to ground floor. Then we saw Jam and the other girls. We asked them to eat eat with us but they are not hungry so me and Ave together with Armar ate at KFC despite the proposals that I made to eat in a more suitable food chain or restaurant.We are so jealous about the other buses, they will leave at 8 pm and some will leave at 9 pm. We are so jealous that while waiting for the bus for an hour or more that I quickly bought a book at book sale and attempted to buy coffee again at Seattle's Best. But rain poured so I abandoned the plan and waited for the bus to arrive. We rushed to the bus and entered quickly since the rain is getting stronger. Every person in the bus gets lesser and lesser until only the one who lives in Maragondon or Ternate was left. My father is waiting with his car outside the bus and we waited for my younger brother and went straight home. Still the whole place is suffering from low electrical power after a post from a place in maragondon blew up. We just ignored the situation and went to sleep.

How will NCAE contribute to my future
All I know before I take this test that it was just another test to take. Just a simple test. But I was wrong.
As we were oriented about this test, my mind focused on something. It was the test that will decide my course for college. I was shocked. And I planted the words " This test must be taken seriously" in my mind. As this event comes closer, we review everyday like there is no tomorrow. We took it very seriously and never made any "just guess" method. Review after review, I got a very satisfying score and some unsatisfying. But all of that results will be put to test by the NCAE. When the last day of review came to an end, I was so nervous as we were oriented about the things to remember about taking the examinations. The day came, I answer all the questions with speed and all my concentration centered at the test. After that test, I kept a secret feeling of happiness in me.
This test. The NCAE will prove its worth when you are near to college. It will provide the course you will take and will be really helpful to seal the course that you excel with. I am very thankful that this test is given already to 3rd year students so it will be very easy to decide on what course that you will take depending on the result. All of this will contribute for a better and brighter future of every individuals and students a like.

What Kind of Tree are you?
I consider my self like a Coconut Tree, because all of it's part can be used, so it is helpful.
I consider my self as a helpful person to my classmates, friends and teachers.
Another thing is its way of bending, swaying and bowing as the wind passes through it.
There is only less resistance against the wind so it does not break against the mighty wind.
Also like me, I follow orders from persons higher in position than me.
I do not retaliate or violate against them so I am not to be in trouble.

Intrams 2011
It was Friday, I woke up not so early because I am feeling lazy that time plus some complains about my shirt which will almost fit my body. I reached school about 6:38. Then after a few hours, the program starts. All of us are called to go to the court. After the program, I went to the gym and play table tennis with anyone. We moved the table to the stage as always. After a few skirmishes with us, the real game starts. Then I officiated for the table tennis girls match, which eventually made me happy. Then when it is already noon, doubles match is going to start. I called my partner and started the match. We are happy even if we lose because we gave them a fair fight. After that, I went to the LRC and saw them playing with miggy's laptop. I was so excited to play, after Alexis, It's my turn. I played and finished the level of COD WaW. I went home very happy. The next day, I instantly went to the LRC building and found them again, playing. After them, I played. I played for a very long time and I loved it. I played till afternoon. I am so happy. But I enjoyed the Intrams most by the sports.

How I Enjoy Music.... "WUNDERBAR"
Music, without music my life, not just only my life but others, will be colorless, no fun and plain. Every time I am doing something, I can not do it without music, it feels like you are doing something and you are incomplete with out music. Another thing is, it expresses the freedom inside that is ready to burst upon hearing the sweet flow of music. Sometimes I tell myself "that music still haunts until now" because I am hearing it even though I am not humming or listening to something.
Party and Rock Music makes me do head bang all the time. It can make my head explode if I do it too much. hehe. Instrumental and Classical Music makes me a new individual with something special in hand. When I am listening to this kind of music, every sound that comes out of our speakers sends a spine tingling blow to my core and also to my brain. Every song that I play depends on my mood. If I want to be relax I listen to the not so intense instrumental music. But if I am in a hurry or there is a problem, I listen to the intense instrumental music. The intensity of the music also depends on deepness of the problem or how fast I want to finish something. The Classical Music is nearly same with Instrumental. But Classical do not make me feel what I feel when listening to Instrumental. The last is Instrumental Music in Rock Version. I listen to it while playing games. It is enjoyable, with a touch of rock and modern sounds.
So music really makes me go haywire or loco. But it really makes me go "WUNDERBAR" as the sound of music fills the air with sweet echoes of melody and sympathy.

My Comments About Starting Classes On September
The start of classes in the Philippines can be on September but there factors that will ruin the balance. Weather and climate we cannot enjoy vacation with a rainy season, if that happens, every vacation the kids will be at home, nothing to do, cannot go outdoors and will cannot do anything because of the rain. Then we cannot bear to go to school during summer, which is a very hot season. That time, the kids should be in their houses playing and taking a rest, going to beaches, malls and playing outdoors. It shows that the class pattern of the Philippines cannot be patterned to that of the US.

The Moon Shall Never Have Me
FRIDAY! My most anticipated day and also my favorite day in every week. But this Friday is different. I can say that this Friday is what I call a COMBO FRIDAY! Combo Friday because there are two events that occurred. First is the most awaited Astronomy Day that everyone thought that it will be whole day. And the second is the anticipated event of my classmates, Sleep Over at Jam's House and her Birthday. Let's go back to the beginning.
Thursday Night, I was already preparing my things for the sleep over, I got all the things I need for the sleep over and I also got my Wii remote and some other games for Wii. I did my assignment and hurriedly went to sleep. As the morning came, I was electrified by the happiness inside me. I quickly took a shower, ate breakfast, tooth brushed and went to school. When I arrived at school, we cleaned and played a game in in English, its purpose is to make us students listen attentively. I am always eliminated but I eliminated only one person, that is fine for me. Then we went to the Math Center to have class in Analytic Geometry.
After that the Astronomy Day for Batch 1 starts. We assembled at the gym and Our section was included in Group 3 which is III- Nitrogen and III- Oxygen. Our group first went to the Film Showing part of the program. After that, our anticipated Space Dome then the Exhibit. After that exhaustible event, we rested and played some music in the room then we forgot that there was still Ask An Astronomer, we hurriedly went to the gym and Denzel wrote the question, IS THE UNIVERSE EXPANDING? IF YES, WHAT DO YOU CALL THE SPACE THAT IT EXPANDS TO? after that, he thought of added something, PAKI BATI PO SI JAM VALLESFIN NG HAPPY BIRTHDAY. We were waiting for the question to be announced as we saw some staff laughing about the question. Then the moment came, the astronomer read the question and answered it then quickly said HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JAM VALLESFIN and also to the staff that is celebrating their Birthday. After that, we went back to the room played music again until dark. But before going dark, a strong rain fell and flooded the field. As I thought of the Star Gazing will not be continued and the lights flicker because of loss of electricity and not hoping to had a brownout. But when the rain calmed, I was very happy and I thought that the star gazing will continue as the field as dried instantly. But it was not, they announced that the stars cannot be seen due to thick clouds, and they will continue it some other time and it is time to go home for others. But for me, it is time to celebrate.
We went to Jam's house and ate. We played Wii there. And when we play, there is no stopping us. Smash Bros. and Wii Sports all over again and we partied until 12 midnight and we slept around 3 in the morning. During 12- 3, we played and played, watched in laptop and ate again. That day is very exhausting, but we had fun.

Each and everyone of us had a saddest moment. We just want to forget it but it still returns like a figment of your imagination or good memories. This moment happens without any warning, it happens at any time and any reasons.
My saddest moment happened when it was November 12, 2008. My lola died that day, but before that, she had a happy and good life, she lives in San Miguel while we live in "bayan". When I was still young, I remembered that I tripped her because i was so angry, but I said sorry to her. After that, she became very old. Even though she is old, she still can do the things she did before like removing the stones in the rice and others.
We were not so close but, I love her. When she became very ill, we went there to comfort her, even our relatives from abroad went back to the Philippines because they are concerned about lola's health. When they were there, they took care of lola in her house. When the time for us to leave and let her children take care of her occured, we went back to bayan and when we are sleeping my parents was was called, and they brought to the hospital. When I woke up, I was stunned by the news that my lola died. At first, I was shocked then I shed tears, but I quickly rubbed it so no one could notice. I went to school with a common tune but deep inside, It hurts like hell. After going to school, I realized and remembered all the beautiful and happy things that occured between us.
Then, the wake is on. Many people visited the wake of my lola because she is known in Maragondon as a kind and generous lady. I think that the wake lasted for one week. After that, the burial day came, every people in San Miguel who knew her joined even our relatives from far away places came. The procession was very slow and it was a very hot day. When we reached the church, the mass for the dead started, my father's co- choir members described the scene as "mas marami pang tao ang nagpunta dito kaysa sa second mass" then I thought there were many people that she helped. When the moment that we sprinkled the holy water , I cried really hard, I want to stop but my will has been bent. When she is going to be buried, I thought of funny things to make me stop crying, but it failed, I stopped crying when her coffin was inserted at the tomb and I thought that all was lost, memories and many others.

My Interests leading to me and me only
Today, I had many interests like playing basketball and table tennis, I'm quite good in basketball but a little bit not ok in table tennis, it is just i like playing it because it is cool and fun to play. But my last interest is the most time allotted hobby of all, it is "PLAYING COMPUTER AND OTHER THINGS". I love playing computer, it makes me happy and entertained, the bad side effects are becoming brutal, hot headed and some unpleasant things, but I just step it aside.
My next interest I think makes me unique in some kind of way, it is about warfare, i love reading war stories, watching war movies, learning about what happened in that war, who were the victors, who were the enemies, where did it occur and the guns I love antique, old guns from the first to the second world war, but i also like the modern guns because of its style and fire power. I also like the planes, propelled driven and jet powered, I am more interested about the old jet planes from world war two because of their odd looks and old technology. Oh how I love it when our topic in AP III reached up to the first and second world war, I will be delighted and glad. I am like this because of the games I play, I got delighted when playing shooting and strategic games which made like a little bit of a war freak or something .
This interest makes me also a unique one, I know only some people would appreciate and likes to listen in Instrumental Music, music without lyrics. I really appreciate that kind of music, it releases the inner emotion and also a way to express yourself by listening to this magnificent kind of music. This includes the classical ones, made by Beethoven and Mozart and up to the twentieth century music. Some part of me also got addicted to rock music and also synthpop, so my interest in music is kinda like mixed up.
And I swear this is the last, I am interested about food and how it is cooked, I not much of a helper when cooking in our house but it is cool to see someone cooking a delicious food. So in order to achieve it, I am always watching Master Chef and Hell's Kitchen.

My Role in Building a Solid Family
My role, not just me but every children, is to make the bond that makes the family closer, stronger. That includes being respectful and obedient to our parents, trust each and every member of the family, being loyal and honest.Another thing is giving or creating happiness to every member and communication serves as a big role for the family's understanding of each other.And the most important is that "Love" must exist because it is the very foundation of a unbreakable family, if love doesn't exist, the family will look like a group of people who doesn't care and understand each other. Well, that is just the important important part, all of those are created from bits of chores. I sweep the second floor of our house everyday and also my room. I wash the dishes after eating so my parents will not be tired. My parents want me to be responsible so I do this with out any word. When I was still young, I am not doing anything that I am doing now because we have a maid, but every time we lose a maid because of my youngest brother always mean and pesky, resulting that our maid can't take it anymore and leaving. So that leads to us brothers to do the chores everyday and I tell you, it intensifies during summer vacation. We sometimes go out when our parents have extra money to enjoy ourselves but despite of that, we save money for immediate use like when our parents forgot to give us money then we use it and also we deposit it in a bank for future use. But this family will have never been like I described if there is no LOVE. LOVE makes the family closer, stronger and happier. If there is no LOVE the bond will just easily break and misunderstanding, jealousy and losing faith will occur. That's why us children also have a big role in making the family solid.

The History of a Father
Francis G. Serrano, that’s my father. I love him very much; he is a different kind of father despite of his health problems. He is very kind to us, his sons. When I was still young, we stayed in Rosario, Cavite and I studied in a day care center, he cheers me up every day when coming back home after work by playing with me and doing other stuffs. When I finished day care, we moved to Maragondon and there we stayed up to now. I studied elementary in Maragondon, he always help me with my assignments together with my mother.
Whenever my assignment is connected to drawing, he helps me but one day, he taught me the technique to draw building like the ones he always drew in my assignments. Before graduating in elementary up to now, me and my father always play the computer when I started buying computer games. Our favorite is Need for Speed and Call of Duty, Need for Speed is his favorite because it is all about cars and for Call of Duty because he is also fund of guns. When I was a First year student, I also got interested in buildings, like him, I downloaded picture of churches and some awesome buildings. He is also fund of listening to religious music like me and also my favorite, the instrumental music; it is a music without any lyrics, just pure music.
I am very close to my father, we are always together whenever he is in our house, we help each other when doing something. He always want the family to be together always. We always watch war movies and we like it. He works overnight to finish his plans for his sideline job because he is an Architect. He finishes the plan early because he needs to earn money for us to live. That’s why we help to lessen other expenses in our house like the electricity and water.
We are also fund of watching about history, especially about war. I t makes us relax and learn more. When it is his birthday, I burn his favorite music to a blank disc; we play it in his car. I wish that my father will have a happy long life together with us, his family. To add it all up, a father is the greatest, kindest and helpful person a child can have, so Happy Father’s Day J.

My First week of school as a Third year student
My first week of school was great because I met my old friends and some new friends. I am suddenly surprised when I saw my classmates when I was in First year, then I thought “them again” but it’s alright, it is also fun to be with them. I am also happy because some of my classmates during my time as a second year student are also my classmates this school year. There are some of my new classmates which I knew by their names but not so well, so I would like to know them better. For my friends whom I already knew, we just strengthen our friendship.
During the first day of classes I was almost late because when I reached the school there were students already lined up in the court. I hastily went to the classroom to put my things there then I ran to the court to join my classmates. After the flag ceremony we cleaned our areas, after finishing cleaning ma’am May briefed us in English III. All subjects were briefed; some already gave us exercises, activity and others. When 4 to 5 in the afternoon came, “as usual” I became very excited because I am going home and rest before doing something.
The next day, it was Diagnostic Test day, when I arrived in school we waited for ma’am Mae to arrive and open the door of the classroom. When the door was open, we rushed to get the cleaning materials then put our bags on the top of the locker, but the top of the locker was already full so I put my bag on the ground near the door then we started the Diagnostic test. After the Diagnostic test, I remembered that there was no half day and replaced by the club organization, I joined the Science club for the third time in my stay in Science high school and I also joined YEC. The next day, after the Diagnostic test in the morning we had regular classes after lunch. Some teachers are giving assignments already, not just one, but several.
After two days of Diagnostic test, I had thought that “aww, the test days are over, back to regular classes again”. Every day, Michael, Ave Joe, Rexson and me are always having laugh trips, and I mean we laugh every day until our eyes become tearful. Every day, I play the Rubik’s Cube during recess both in the morning and afternoon and also lunch time. At the end of the week, our assignments had piled up and became many, but that is just ok for me, I mean that’s what school is. Also at the end of the week, I thought “wow! I finished my First week of being a Third year student”, I wish that I will always have a good feeling after the end of the week up to the end of school year.
